Deep in the northern woods of Wisconsin, on the quiet shores of Kentuck Lake, The Lodge at Kentuck Lake summons you for your next couple's retreat, family vacation, or fishing/hunting expedition. Close to the Chain of Lakes yet blissfully "away from it all". You will appreciate all this executive log home and property have to offer.
The Lodge at Kentuck Lake is located on five acres in the woods, directly on the eastern shores of the lake. The setting is remote and romantic. There is a dock and jet ski lift station available for docking your toys and viewing spectacular sunsets. Fish can be caught directly from the dock. The 957 acre lake on the Vilas/Forest County line has prime musky fishing and has perch, northern pike, bass, blue gills and various pan fish. There is nothing better than the taste of fresh fish from this spring fed lake. The home comes with an ice shanty for guest use while ice fishing in the winter.
The property has three small ponds (non fishing/swimming) which house the frogs that live here. Various fresh herbs grow along the stream that guests may use for cooking while here. There is a gazebo with a six person hot tub that includes waterfalls, specialty lighting and mp3/iPod listening. The huge fire pit area is awesome for gathering to cook dinner, roast marshmallows or enjoy a glass of wine while settling in for evening.
The home is an executive log home with an Italian Gothic style design with rustic decor. There are four fireplaces in the home. One on the lower level game room, two on the main level and one in the loft. Two are gas. All of them are surrounded by beautiful field stone.
The main level of the home has two bedrooms, one full bath, executive chef kitchen, dining area, two family rooms and reading room. Both bedrooms have queen beds, closets, dressers, ceiling fans and t.v.'s. One bedroom overlooks the lake while the other has beautiful wooded views and french doors that open up onto its own patio.
The bathroom is a mix of log and marble. There is a double custom tile vanity and extra large glass shower. The extra deep, large whirlpool clover tub is a wonderful way to relax anytime of the day. The Italian tile throughout is simply stunning.
The executive chef kitchen will delight the culinary artist(s). Collect some fresh herbs from the stream to prepare your dinner on the Viking lodge gas range and/or in the Viking double wall ovens. There is also a side by side Sub Zero refrigerator and a roomy Viking dishwasher. The range is built into the four seat breakfast counter so the chef can entertain while cooking. There is Le Creuset cookware and a number of helpful cooking tools such as blender, food processor, electric fry pan, mixer, Nesco roaster and much more. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, serve ware, bakeware, etc.
The dining area is gorgeous with wood dining table seating for six. The Gothic iron chandelier makes a real statement. Off of the dining area is the reading room. Grab a book from the hutch or the boat book rack on the lower level, settle into one of the rockers and enjoy losing yourself while you relax.
The main living area is combined with the dining area. There is a leather sofa, rocker, game table and chairs and beautiful gas fireplace. The real show stopper; however, is the beautiful Old Town canoe that rests on top of the exposed, large log beams. It is a beautiful antique that has never seen water. Of course, some may argue that the real show stopper is the big picture window that showcases the foliage and the lake. It is truly a stunning vista and the sunsets are gorgeous from this room.
There is a second family room with bar, wine fridge, sofa, chairs, t.v. and field stone log fireplace. A pair of french doors, floor to ceiling windows and sky lights bring in all the gorgeous vistas.
The staircase to the loft bedroom is accessed from the main living area. The loft is a substantial size with queen size bed, dressers, sofa, field stone fireplace, beautiful log crib and dressing table and even a Christmas tree should you be spending the holidays with us. There are french doors that open up to your own patio and overlook the lake.
The lower level has a fourth bedroom, laundry room and game room. The game room overlooks the lake and ponds and has walkout to lower deck and walkways. The game room has a pool table and dart machine for your enjoyment along with sofa and library of books. The laundry room has a washer and dryer for guest use and ample room for storage of fishing equipment.
The bedroom has sleeping for four with two super, comfy log bunk beds, dressers, t.v., closet and ensuite bath. The window overlooks the lake and ponds.
An easy drive from southeastern Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan or Illinois makes it an ideal get away for a long weekend. Also, great for a family reunion or bucket list winter retreat for those who have never experienced a Wisconsin winter. The beauty is breathtaking and the fishing second to none.
Come see what all the fuss is about!
